don't you know
they're waiting to be found
they're from beyond
you can't just stick around
if you're alone
the heavens fall on you
so come along
we'll start this day anew
don't you dare to venture out alone
hold your breath you're shaking to the bone
you came to speak
but haven't said a word
they call you weak
the black sheep of the herd
from deep within
your body starts to crawl
they're closing in
you're so sick of it all
don't you dare to venture out alone
hold your breath you're shaking to the bone
I don't care if you're silent for it all
there's time to spare I'll meet you in the fall
If there ever was a timely album to sum up the United States in 2020, this is it. Elements of black metal, hymnals, call-and-response, sampled news audio, and Manuel's amazing voice come together to form a beautifully tortured sound.
The term 'avant-garde' is rightfully earned with every moment of this EP. mistermunn
