If I had a choice I'd tear it asunder
so the flame in my chest was free to wander
and the fire can burn
and I've tried my best just to feel so weak to no avail
if it was allowed they'd get you to stay
as much as they tried to put you away
and they'll make your decisions if you don't let go
it's yours to keep
and I've tried my best
just to feel too weak
now take it all
it's yours to keep
and I've tried my best
just to feel too weak
to no avail
you're trying to shout but nothing comes out
no one can tell you're struggling to yell
if you keep moving forward you can't let them know
you did everything different you didn't let go
and if it meant anything
you could have had every thing
it's yours to keep
and I've tried my best
just to feel too weak
now take it all
it's yours to keep
and I've tried my best
just to feel too weak
to no avail
and if it meant anything
you could have had everything
you could have had everything
If there ever was a timely album to sum up the United States in 2020, this is it. Elements of black metal, hymnals, call-and-response, sampled news audio, and Manuel's amazing voice come together to form a beautifully tortured sound.
The term 'avant-garde' is rightfully earned with every moment of this EP. mistermunn

Fantastic soul metal. Grimmrobe
Despite the odds being throughly against them, Z&A has found a way to meld slave music with black metal to surprising effect.
An acquired taste, yes. But one well worth acquiring. Grimmrobe
