If there ever was a timely album to sum up the United States in 2020, this is it. Elements of black metal, hymnals, call-and-response, sampled news audio, and Manuel's amazing voice come together to form a beautifully tortured sound.

As usuall: I don't really like those tiny appetizers because they leave you unsatisfied, longing for more.
But sometimes I just can't resist, because the tiny bits are so damn tasty.
Once I hit play, I immediately got reminded why I love this project so much.
This sound... just... damn.

Zeal and Ardor set an exceptionally high bar with their self-titled (and previous) album.
With songwriting as original as they are masterful and production so balanced that all instruments and vocalisations feel as if they're the star of the show, the question becomes: why haven't you pre-ordered this yet?
